Rajesh has a background in academic, research and business areas. He has extensive experience in the fundamental as well as applied aspects of reproduction. He earned a B.Sc., two master’s degrees and a PhD, achieved four first-time scientific records, and received 23 merit awards at university, national and international levels. On the industry side, Rajesh managed India’s premier cattle semen production centre (SAG, National Dairy Development Board) which has grown exponentially over the years. He then joined a human-IVF start-up (Bavishi-IVF, India) as a Chief Scientist which achieved success rate at par with the reputed IVF centres within one year of inception. The centre has grown significantly and has expanded into major metropolitan cities in India. While working towards his PhD at the University of Saskatchewan, Rajesh started a take-out restaurant in Saskatoon (Taste of India) which was successful and achieved ranking for customer service.
While doing post-doctorate at the University of Calgary, Rajesh discovered his passion for business and joined the MBA program in Technology Commercialization at the University of Alberta. Here he founded the University of Alberta Commercialization Club. While in the MBA program, Rajesh conceptualized a power saver device to reduce electricity waste by household gadgets/appliances in their standby mode.
Rajesh has been working with the City of Edmonton’s Edmonton Economic Development Corporation (EEDC) for more than six years. Prior to joining the Edmonton Research Park team, he served in the Knowledge Management division of EEDC and at TEC Edmonton.
